Multiple Births Canada

Mission:

Multiple Births Canada’s mission is to improve the quality of life for multiple birth individuals and their families in Canada. We fulfill our mission by providing support, education, research, and advocacy, locally, nationally and internationally to individuals, families, Chapters, and organizations that have a personal or professional interest in multiple birth issues.

The Edmonton Twin & Triplet Club and its members are pleased to be part of Multiple Births Canada. Below we highlight some of the benefits from this membership.

Donations:

Your Donation will be used to help further MBC’s Mission, stated above, through their objectives and strategic priorities. MBC is an official Registered Charity and tax receipts will be issued on all donations. Please visit their website today.

What does MBC have to offer?

Membership

ALL registered members receive an email from the Membership Coordinator and a Welcome letter that indicates their password to the Member’s Only Section of the MBC website. This section is for each and every member for downloading free fact sheets, accessing free documentation and information, and for accessing member’s only discounted prices on publications if ordering online.

Free Fact Sheets

Available for a wide range of topics including:

– Bed Rest
– Development in Utero
– Tips for Expected Moms
– Preterm and Low Birth Weights
– First Few Weeks
– Breastfeeding
– Car Seat Tips
– Clothing and Equipment
– Dad’s Role
– Sheets Specific for Higher Order Multiples (triplets, quadruplets and more)
– And Many More

Multiple Moments

All members receive access to the four quarterly issues of the Multiple Moments newsletter (available on-line in the member’s only section of the MBC website). This is an extremely well written newsletter that contains a lot of good information pertaining specifically to multiple-birth families. Since it is a National publication, the stories and information are so much broader than what we can provide at a local level.

MBC Website

The website is full of valuable information, reference materials and links to all kinds of valuable websites. For example, the website contains:

  • Many of the initiatives that the national organization (MBC) is working on.
  • Information about National Multiple Births Awareness Day and the Making a Difference Awards.
  • Links to MBC Facebook Pages and Support Networks for preterm-births, breastfeeding, special needs, loss, higher order multiples (triplets +), fathers, lone parents, Francophone, adult multiples and LGBTQ+.
  • Clear, concise and easy to use information.
  • In the Members Section – MBC member’s only fact sheets (free), a list of discounts, coupons and free gifts for parents of multiples. It is worth the time to prepare a form letter and make copies of their birth certificates so that you can mail these out easily after the babies are born.
  • Prenatal information, links, publications and tips from other multiple parents.
  • Interesting categories with life stories that all MBC Chapters can share and contribute to.
